Internet Friend

You entered my life when I needed someone
that I could call my friend.
You've shown me so much, such kindness and caring,
that I pray will never end.
Why did it happen? Do you wonder too?
Why is it that we met this way?
Of all the people it could have been,
all the names, all the faces
you're the one who showed up that day.
I know I'll never look in your eyes,
or see your precious smiles.
I'm proud that you're my friend
and our friendship spans so many miles.
You've made me laugh and you've made me cry
with poems and games and such,
You've brought back feelings I thought I had lost
and for that I thank you so much.
I have my life and you have yours,
